Des. of Peter Price #2 b 1826

2.  PETER (JIM) PRICE (JOSEPH ANDERSON2, PETER1) was born 1826 in Pulaski Co Ky..  He married (1) FRANCIS "FANNY" WESLEY November 07, 1844 in Pulaski Co. Ky..    He married (2) SARAH HAGLER June 19, 1856 in Washington Co. Ill., daughter of JOHN HAGLER.  She was born March 16, 1838 in Ill., and died April 18, 1911 in Fair Play, Polk Co. Mo. Buried in Bethel Cem. Cedar Co. Mo. About 4 miles west & 2 miles south of Fair Play, Polk Co. Mo..

Note# 1. On Sarah's death certificate is listed her parents, John Hagler and "Kate S----------mon". (unreadable because of scribbling, suppose to be Zimmerman.)  No record has been found of this marriage. (Possibly a mistake  in spelling of last name by person filling out the certificate, but many marriages went unrecorded).

      Note# 2. 1870 census, Cherokee Co. KS

Note# 3. 1880 census Greene Co. MO, Campbell Twp. Vol.13,Ed.46,Pg.621-Ln.47.:

Note# 4. From the Polk Co. Mo. Bolivar Herald, May 11, 1911,   Sarah Price’s obituary states she was Sarah D. Hagler, born March 16, 1822 in Illinois and lived there until she married at the age of 18 to Peter Price.  She was a mother of 13 children, five dead, and eight remaining here to mourn the loss of a mother.  She died in April 1911 and was buried in Bethel Cem..  Children surviving her were: George Price who had lived with her;  Dr. Price of Masters;  Mrs. M. A. Case of Bolivar;  Mrs. Alice Smith of near Fair Play;  Mrs. Florence Tolbert of near Fair Play; John Price of Oxford KS; Mrs. Lizzie Matlock of Meridian ID; and Nellie Smith of Elmdale KS.  Sarah’s Death Certificate states her birth year as 1824 but she had obviously lost track of her birth year as seen in the census reports.  It is most likely that the earliest census with Peter was correct, placing her birth year as 1838.  This would jibe with her statement that she was wed at 18 and the Illinois marriage record for 1856.
