SARAH DIAITHA BUGG FOX
In Memory.
Sarah Dialtha Bugg was born Feb. 15, 1856 and departed from this life on May 19, 1917. She was married Oct 3, 1878 to J. F. Fox. To this union were born three children one of whom died in infancy. Walter R. Fox and Mrs. J. F. Firestone two remaining children were with her during her last illness and at the bedside when the death Angel called her home.
Aunt Sarah was converted in 1877, joined the Baptist church at Mt. Gillead and remained a faithful christian until she was called to join the host of the redeemed. Aunt Sarah was ready to die and during the last few weeks of her illness she sang: Oh! when shall I see Jesus and reign with him on high.
Mrs. Fox was born and lived her entire life of 61 years within one mile of the place of her death. She leaves a devoted husband, one son, one daughter, five grand children.
But all realize that their loss is her eternal gain as she has been an invalid for the past 15 years. For the past two months was confined to her bed as a result of a fractured hip.
Mrs. Fox was called upon to bear much suffering but she bore it patiently and with Christian fortitude, looking always to Jesus in time of need and by her life pointing others to the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.
She has gone from this world of sorrows gone to dwell with Christ and the father above. Her companion will miss her; her children will long for her counsel and love. The grand children will miss that loving kindness but they may have the assurance that some day, somewhere, they may if they but follow the Christ whom she followed meet her and then tears will be no more but all will be joy and peace in the love of God the Father and Jesus Christ the Lord.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. P. Adcock at Lindley Prairie.
A loved one from our midst is gone,
A voice we
loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home
Which never
can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The boom his
love has given,
And though the by slumbers here,
The soul is
safe in heaven
