--The El Dorado Springs and Stockton Libraries maintain Cedar County resources.
--The Cedar County Libraries and Nevada Library are Missouri Evergreen Libraries; however, many family research resources must be used in the library and cannot be checked out.
--Genealogical resources at these libraries are not included at https://www.worldcat.org; you must search the library's catalog.
--The Nevada MO Public Library is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library and has a large selection of regional resources.
--Genealogical resources are available during regular library hours without charge.
--The Missouri Newspaper Archives and the Midwest Genealogy Center have interlibrary loan programs for some of their genealogy resources.

Census Records: Free census searches are available on your local library's website at the HeritageQuest link (requires a library card for access from home) and on many websites including https://www.familysearch.org (requires free account).
County Records on Microfilm: A list of records on microfilm at the Missouri State Archives for all Missouri counties.

Daughters of the American Revolution: The Descendants Database contains lineages of all women who have joined the DAR and the database can be searched online. Newer applications correct any errors in older lineages. Recommend using Advanced Search in the Descendants Database. Enter the man's surname in the top section and the spouse's maiden name below. Fill in as little as possible to conduct a search; add more information to narrow search results. Entries are listed chronologically; newest lineages are at the bottom of the list. Newsletters of the Local Genealogy Society: For several years from 2003 and 2017, the Cedar and Vernon County Genealogical Society published a small monthly newsletter that included how-to articles and transcriptions of obituaries and interesting local newspaper stories and articles.
