OBITUARY
Hiram Thomas Samsel, was born in Cedar county, Mo., November 17, 1856, son of Dr. Isaac Samsel. He departed this life January 17, 1940 age 83 years and 2 months.
He was united in marriage to Rebecca. A. Loveall, Nov. 18, 1877. To this union was born seven children; two of them having died in infancy and one son Robert E. Samsel passed away one year ago. He leaves to mourn their loss 3 daughters, Mrs. Frank Simmons at Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Ida Chapman at Scranton, Kansas; Mrs. Stella Fenton at Milo, Missouri, one son Frank Samsel at Globe, Arizona; seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He made his home in Cedar county for over 72 years. Early in life he was converted and united with the Missionary Baptist church at Forest Home in Cedar county, and was a faithful member, a good and loving husband and father until he was called to his final reward.
Funeral services were conducted by Elder Port Barnes at Lindley Prairie, Sunday afternoon and interment was in the cemetery there.

Rebecca A. (Loveall) Samsel
OBITUARY
Rebecca A. Loveall was born in Cedar county, Mo., July 3, 1859 and departed this life Dec. 9th, 1928 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Frank Simmons, at Nebraska City, Nebr. Age 69 years, 5 months and 6 days.
On November 18, 1877 she was married to Hiram T. Samsel. To this union was born 7 children, two of them having died in infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband, two sons, Frank Samsel of Oregon, Robert of Kansas City, Mo., and 3 daughters, Mrs. Frank Simmons of Nebraska City, Nebr., Mrs. Stella Fenton of Alma, Ark., Mrs. Ida Chapman of Kansas, three sisters, Mrs. Corda Taylor of Dunnegan, Mo., Mrs. Thena Creyton of Phoenix, Mo., and one sister who lives in Kansas, one brother James Loveall, of Kansas City, Mo., a number of grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
Early in life she was converted and united with the Missionary Baptist church at Forest Home Cedar County, Mo., being a loyal, faithful member until called to her final reward.
Funeral services wore conducted by L. L. Tucker at Lindley Prairie church peer her old home, Dee 11th, after which her body was laid to rest in the Lindley Prairie cemetery amid wreaths and sprays of beautiful flowers, which portrayed the high esteem and purity in which her children, neighbors and friends held her.
All her family was present at her funeral to pay their last tribute of love except one daughter Mrs. Ida Chapman who stayed at the home of her sister Mrs. Frank Simmons with the father and husband Hiram T. Samsel and one son Frank Samsel of Oregon.
