Ralph Marcum in the Southern Baptist Mission in Stockton, on Tuesday afternoon June 12 and interment was in Pankey Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Funeral Home. Swaggerty came to his death in an accident at the Charles Whistance Farm on Saturday afternoon, June 9 when he was assisting in freeing a truck that was stuck in the barn lot. A chain had been attached to the truck which was owned by the Stockton Central Cooperative and the other end to the hydraulic lift on the Charles Whistance tractor. When Swaggerty who had been called to assist in freeing the truck got on the tractor to drive it and pull the truck, the tractor reared up and turned over on him, killing him instantly. A wrecker had to be called to the scene to remove the tractor from Swaggerty's body.
