EDWINIA WALKER
__(torn) Edwinia Walker, died, after a lingering illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Todd, in Perry, Oklahoma, Monday, May 31, 1921. Her remains were brought to Fair Play last Thursday, and taken to her old home. Funeral services were held at the home, and also at the Bethel Church, last Saturday, by Rev. Long of Stockton, and interment was made in Bethel cemetery.
Deceased was born in Cedar county, December 13, 1849, and the greater part of her life was spent in that county. January 1, 1871, she was married to Samuel Walker. Five children were born to them, four sons and one daughter, B. H. and E. L. Walker of Fair Play, C. L. Walker of Saddle Mountain, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Todd of Perry, Oklahoma and a son who died in infancy. She has one sister and two brothers living, Mrs. Susan Robison of Fair Play, Joshua Fleeman of Stockton and George Fleeman of Spokane, Washington.
Mrs. Walker was a professed follower of Christ. She was converted and united with the Methodist church at Bethel at the age fifteen. She was devoted to her church. She lived a life in which her friends had confidence. They were heartbroken when she passed away. She leaves to mourn her departure besides the children and brothers and sister, a husband, eighteen grand children and many friends.
